Family Favorite Nanaimo BarsRecipe Index: Desserts > Bar Cookies3 squares unsweetened chocolate 1/2 cup butter 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs 1/2 cup finely chopped toasted pecans 1 package vanilla instant pudding & pie filling 1/3 cup each: butter and boil water 2 cups powdered sugar 3 squares semi-sweet chocolate 1/2 cup whipping cream Directions Melt unsweetened chocolate and 1/2 cup butter over low heat; remove. Add crumbs and pecans; mix well. Press into 9 inch square pan. Chill Combine pudding mix, 1/3 cup butter and water; blend in powdered sugar until smooth. Spread over crust; chill until set, about 1 hour. Melt semi-sweet chocolate and cream over low heat; stir until smooth. Spread over pudding layer. Chill. Store in refrigerator; let stand at room temperature 30 minutes before slicing. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired. Makes 24 bars Notes Use any flavor of pudding as directed. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 1 week. |
