Amish Spaghetti SauceRecipe Index: Dips/Sauces > Miscellaneous6qt. tomato juice ( can also include some crushed tomatoes if you like tomatoes pieces.) 3 cups chopped onion, browned in butter. (I brown mine with the ground beef.) 3qt. groundbeef cooked I used 2- 21/2 lbs raw and cook with onion.) 10 cubes beef bouillon 1 1/2 c. brown sugar.(I found that to sweet and use 3/4 to 1c.) 2tsp.garlic salt 1tsp. chili power 2tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp pepper 2 tsp.oregano 1qt. bottled ketchup (strange I know but taste good) Directions bring to boil and thicken with 1 cup clear jell. I used corn starch to thicken to what I like. works better and is cheaper. simmer 20 min. put into jars and cold pack 20 min. makes apx. 7 qts |
