Fried Green Tomatoes

6 medium green tomatoes
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs (seasoned)
1/2 cup corn meal
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon oregano


Directions
Cut tomatoes into 1/4 inch slices, discarding the top and bottom slices. Mix remaining ingredients; coat the tomatoes well and fry in hot bacon drippings (or other fat) until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels; serve hot.
